This listing is for a unique and beautiful Odawara Brass Wind Chime – Bell Cricket Sound, Wind Bell.

This wind chime is made using Odawara metal-casting techniques, which originated in the city of Odawara in western Kanagawa Prefecture and have been passed down since the Muromachi Period (1336 1573). The material used here is brass, resulting in a light, dignified tone and a prolonged reverberation resembling the sound of a Japanese bell cricket.
The attached tanzaku strip is made using real wood resembling Hakone Yosegi marquetry.
Hakone Yosegi-zaiku is a type of traditional Japanese marquetry developed in Edo period Japan in the town of Hakone. Resembling a type of mosaic, yosegi is created through the combination of fine oblong rods of wood chosen for their grain, texture and colour, and is well-known for its intricately patterned nature.
